About Gamma Electronics
Gamma Electronics was founded in 2006 and is based in Pomona, California, (greater Los Angeles area). We began in the production and selling of heat shrink and heat shrinkable boots to the aerospace and defense industries, having multiple products approved by Boeing, Bell Helicopter, and Lockheed Martin. In the years following Gamma Electronics has continued to produce cable protection products, revolutionizing the market with the introduction of silicone cold shrink tubing in 2015.

Peter Weyhreter is a visionary leader in the manufacturing and telecommunications industries. As Vice President of Gamma Electronics, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specializing in critical telecommunications components, Peter oversees innovations in plenum coaxial cables, armored plenum coax, connectors, RF weatherproofing, and grounding solutions. Since co-founding Gamma in 2006, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the broadband and in-building wireless markets.
Beyond his work at Gamma, Peter is the co-founder and Chairman of DAS University, a pioneering institution dedicated to advancing knowledge in the Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) industry. DAS University brings together top experts to share insights and best practices, offering a comprehensive educational platform for all stakeholders, including integrators, designers, and building owners. The institution is redefining professional development in the DAS and ERCES (Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems) sectors.
Peter’s groundbreaking innovations have left a lasting impact on the telecommunications field. In 2015, he revolutionized outdoor RF connector weatherproofing with the creation of a silicone-based cold shrink tube, now widely deployed on cell towers worldwide. In 2018, he introduced the PIM boot, the first RF weatherproofing solution designed to block RF leakage. Responding to the 2021 plenum compound shortage, Peter developed a versatile connector and cable prep tool compatible with multiple 1/2-inch plenum cable brands. Most recently, in 2023, he launched the 3-in-1 Grounding Transition Box, a cutting-edge solution that combines a lightning arrestor, busbar, and NEMA 4-rated enclosure into one compact unit.
Peter’s influence extends to industry dialogue and education. In 2023, he launched DAS Talk, the most-watched podcast in the DAS industry, available at www.dastalk.com. With over 9,000 views on its latest episode, DAS Talk serves as a vital platform for industry leaders to share their expertise with a diverse audience, including building owners, architects, integrators, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
Outside his professional achievements, Peter is a devoted family man who cherishes time with his wife and four children. A proud father, he delights in supporting his kids’ accomplishments in academics, sports, choir, drama, and more. In his free time, Peter enjoys coaching his children’s sports teams and creating memorable moments with his family.
